What Goes Up Comes Down

The woods to the west look magical this morning with the sun melting away the fog. If I sit real still and quiet, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat come walking my way.

The woods and gardens are home to millions of spiders. A little fog and their webs light up like magic.

A surprise was finding a number of trees that had toppled in recent winds, a reminder that what goes up must come down, and a warning to stay out of the woods when the winds are blowing too hard.

The tallest of the cottonwoods have shed most of their leaves. One more stormy day, and their golden leaves will be but a memory.
