Beans Worthy of the Gods

My first picking of Shirohana-mame 白花豆 is an offering worthy of the gods. This year they ripened too late for the farmers markets, which means, we will have to eat them all by yourselves. Worse tragedies have befallen this world.

I found some purple peas too this morning, our last day of sunshine for a while. Daily rains are forecast from tomorrow forever on.
